Memorial Day Weekend in St. Teresa

Our Memorial Day Weekend got off to a rough start but ended up being a great, relaxing weekend. Saturday and Sunday morning's were both overcast so the kids were able to play on the beach without having to lather them up with sunscreen and after lunch and nap the sun came out and we all hit the beach for remainder of the afternoon.

Saturday the Jordan/Sykes clan came over along with the Sellars, Wheeless and Smith clans and we enjoyed a sunny afternoon on the beach with them. When Court and Vicki's crew arrived, Vicki's son Chase came tearing down the hill and dove straight into the ocean. Cole must have had his eye on Chase and he followed suit. He jumped right into the waves without a care in the world. He played in the waves from then on and lost all fear of the ocean. There was a lot of "Monkey See, Monkey Do" this weekend.

Sunday we repeated Saturday this time without as many clans. The Smiths and Wheeless joined us on the beach via boat, and they guys headed to Alligator Point for their version of "White Trash Bash."

Cassidy and Cole played so well together over the weekend. It is fun for him to really start to "play" and interact with other children now and appreciate their company.

Unfortunately we headed back on Monday but really appreciate the hospitality the Boone's provided us. We had a great time at St. Teresa! Thanks again!

NOTE: Since the coming back from two weekends at the beach, the word "beach" has had frequent usage from Cole. He will wake up in the morning and the first word from his mouth is "da beach". I think he enjoyed himself immensely. Now he will say, "blah blah blah da beach?" and then nod his head and say "Mmm hum" (as in yes). It is hilarious. It is like he is answering his on question.

Here are a "few" of the photos from the weekend.

Enough said....

WOW! That is cold.

I love you Cassidy.

Trying to get a little sun on that belly.
Tanner, Devenney and Cassidy playing in the waves and sand.
A dog came and stole one of Cole's ducks and bit the wing off the duck, so I told the owner he could just go ahead and keep it. Well Monday morning, there is sat alone on the beach. So we decided to make it our mascot.
Who took that perfect picture?
Cole's final morning on the beach and telling it "bye bye"

He actually found and brought the duck "mascot" back for us.

St. George Island Weekend

We had such a great time at St. George this weekend. Cole and I arrived on Friday night with not a spare inch of room in the car. I don't think Heather and Clint were sure if we were moving in for good or not. It is amazing how much stuff you feel you need to bring and then don't use half of it. I have learned and will pack a lot less for this weekend coming up. Saturday morning Cole woke up with a red chapped cheek which I chalked up to him sleeping on it until his entire body started developing a rash. He continuously sneezed and had watery eyes throughout the day which made me believe it was an allergy to something, but what was the question. The carpets at the beach house had just been cleaned and I had just bought new dryer sheets so between the two, we figured that must have been what caused it. I gave him Benadryl and by Monday morning it began to clear up.

Other than the rash, we got in the water and jumped waves, built sand castles, took a walk down the beach and played in the pool. The pictures say it all.
Thanks again to the Daughtrys for their hospitality!

Dancing, Dancing, and More Dancing

The other night before bed Cole decided to start dancing. This lasted for about 15 minutes straight. He was all over the place and it was the funniest thing watching him dance.

(Note: You can scroll to the bottom to turn off the music before watching the video to hear what all the kids have to say).

Then at the beach this weekend he, Harbor and Lily showed off some more moves.

The Week in Review

Well, like mother like son! My mom has a picture of me about Cole's age where she had put me down for a nap in the crib. Apparently I wasn't quite ready for a nap and thought I would let her know by striping everything out of the bed, everything on the dresser and everything on me.

So, last weekend I went in to get Cole up after his nap and went in and he had tossed out his blanket along with his diaper. He only had on his t-shirt at this time. And unforuately for me, he waited to pee until AFTER he took his diaper off. All over the bed, the mattress and the floor. Thanks Cole. As you can see it didn't bother him one bit.

On Sunday, Bill, Michele, Sydney and Cody all came over to swim. Cole is now saying everyone's names but Bill's. He makes a "duck/quack like sound for Bill." I'll have to get it on video to post. The boys enjoyed popsicles and Sydney practiced her diving. Oh and they also were sharing an applesauce, so cute!

I think this is such a cute photo!Monday after school Cole and I went to feed the geese "ducks". There were babies so we were careful to keep our distance but there was one momma who was hissing at us. She is about as tall as Cole so I finally figured we'd head out. Cole was so cute as we walked down the sidewalk to leave, he kept turning around to say "Bye Ducks." Very very cute. Cole checking out the geese
